Scott Around the Web

Video of Scott, Mel & Yohei
Here's a rough video of "Angry Moon" and "River of Love" from a very unplugged performance in October at UnUrban Coffee House in Santa Monica.
Video of Yohei Shikano & Friends
Check out this jam with Yohei and friends (including me and Mel) at UnUrban Coffee House in Santa Monica doing The Beach Boys and The Lovin' Spoonful. Very loose and lots o' fun.
Radio Drive on iTunes
Now you can listen to song samples and purchase the "Radio Drive" CD digitally on iTunes. You must already have iTunes installed on your computer to use this link to the iTunes store.

Musical Friends

Melanie Bomar
This is the site where my wife pulls together her many musical goings on.
Yohei Shikano
Yohei is a great guitarist, writer, musicain and performer who plays with us regularly. Buy his album. It's cool.
The Derailers
This Austin based group is one of the best country bands around. I've written some of my favorite songs with these guys.
Steve Seskin
Steve is an amazing writer with a pretty impressive resume of songs recorded by other artists. Check out his recording of "Two Paper Town," which we wrote together.
Marty Rifkin
The amazing steel man, multi-instrumentalist and unstoppable producer is the guy I do virtually all my recording with on the West Coast. He's also the nicest person ever.
The Buzzards
My wife Melanie joined this group as a background vocalist, percussionist and rhythm guitarist. The band also includes acclaimed guitarist Will Ray (formerly of the Hellecasters).
Jere Mendelsohn
Jere's a great guitar player and the newest member of my wife's band, The Buzzards. He's got his own projects going on, too. It's twang that rocks and rock that twangs! Check it out.
Kepano Green
This acoustic duo is made up of Josh Kauffman and Paul Duncan. Paul and I were in our first band together in high school and still play and write together frequently. You'll spot him in a few of the shots in my "pictures" section.
Paul Marshall
This L.A. based songwriter and member of I See Hawks in L.A. is one of my co-writers and an all-around good guy.
Tammy Rogers
Tammy is an amazing musician, songwriter and great person. If you hear fiddle on one of my recordings it's probably Tammy!
Sixpence None the Richer
This is my friend Matt's band that broke up a while back. He recently played pedal steel on a cover of Buck Owens' "Under Your Spell Again" that I recorded in Nashville.

Music Organizations

Sony/ATV Music Publishing
These folks have the publishing on a whole lotta my songs!
Larga Vista Music
Larga Vista also owns the publishing on many of my songs.
Green Hills Music
The most exciting new publishing company in Nashville. Definitely the ONE to watch!
The Americana Music Association
I'm a member of this fine organization which exists as "a forum for the advocacy of Americana music and to promote public awareness of the genre."
The Country Music Foundation
I love this place!
Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI)
A group committed to elevating, educating and celebrating the songwriter - not to mention advocating songwriters' rights and copyright protection.

Stuff I Care About

The One Campaign
The One Campaign is a diverse coalition of faith-based and anti-poverty organizers whose mission is to rally Americans – ONE by ONE – to fight the emergency of global AIDS and extreme poverty.
Sojourners
This much-needed group strives to promote spiritual renewal and social justice by serving as a voice for people of faith who don't necessarily identify with conservative politics.
Music Row Democrats
I try not to be to partisan when it comes to politics, but I think these guys are doing some good things in my home state. Check out my contribution to their compilation album.
ASODI
The Association for Orphans and Disabled is a relief organization in Cameroon, Africa that helps needy children and disabled individuals receive health care, education and basic needs. Melanie and I traveled to Cameroon in 2005 and, along with several others from the trip, helped set up a sponsorship program with ASODI. Adopt an orphan pen pal today!
Amnesty International
This well known advocacy group seeks impartial protection of human rights across the globe.
International Justice Mission
This unique group seeks to document and monitor international conditions of abuse and oppression. They've done some particularly amazing work freeing young girls from forced prostitution in India.
Compassion International
This organization offers a reputable opportunity to sponsor a child living in poverty. Melanie and I have supported them for years and currently have three kids we're sponsoring. You get regular letters, pictures and everything....It's pretty cool.
DATA (Debt, AIDS, Trade, Africa)
DATA was founded in 2002 by Bono and other activists who want to raise awareness and spark response to the three major crises affecting Africa: unpayable debts, the AIDS epidemic, and unfair trade rules which continue the cycle of poverty. It sounds overwhelming, but it's important...check it out!
